TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to Bookends, a podcast about the books, chapters, and pages of our lives. Today we will get to know paranormal romance author Teresa Keefer. If you want to get in on the fun by recommending a book or doing an author interview, email indieauthors@substack.com. Now on with the show.

Welcome back, bookworms. I'm your host WriterKat. In this episode, I am doing a Q&A with Teresa Keefer, a fellow indie author and co-host with me for the Hoosier Indie Authors Book Fair.

Teresa Keefer sometimes writes under the pen name Autumn Drake but mostly under her real name. She lives in rural Indiana near her daughters and grandchildren with a menagerie of animals. She also enjoys gardening and crafting.

Teresa writes paranormal romance books and published two books in May 2023: Samhain, book one in the Wheel of the Witch series, and Rowena’s Song, a prequel to Blessed Be, Threefold, and Namaste.

Listen in to our Q&A as we get to know Teresa Keefer.

Welcome to Bookends, Teresa!

What inspired you to write your books?

Thanks! I get my inspiration from various sources. I honestly think I have a ghost putting ideas in my head sometimes.

What was the most challenging part of writing your books?

Finding the time to write while working full time.

What do you hope readers will take away from your books?

I just hope they enjoy going to the world I created for just a little bit.

What are you working on next?

Ostara, which is Book 2 of my Wheel of the Witch series.

If you could do a book signing anywhere in the world, where would it be?

This is easy. Ireland! And can I stay for a month? Or move there?

What is one thing you wish you had known before publishing your book?

How difficult marketing was going to be.

What is your best advice for aspiring authors?

I'm going to parrot the advice I got at a Romance Writers of America conference from the prolific Nora Roberts..."Just sit down and f---ing write."

What is one thing you love about being an author?

Meeting new people and going to new places.

What is one thing you hate about being an author?

Marketing.

What has helped you sell the most books?

I have a wonderful PA who does all the hard work. If you are an author, look her up. Poised Pen Productions.

Where can we find you?

Teresa Keefer romance.com or facebook.com/Teresa A. Keefer. My next signing will be at Getting Witchy With It in Salem (actually in Peabody, MA).

Thank you, Teresa Keefer, for sharing your writing journey with us.

And thank you, listeners. We appreciate you tuning in. If you enjoy reading paranormal romance novels, you will love Teresa's books!
