Welcome to subscribers Lewis, Amoham, and JT Kelly! I’m not sure what they do, which leads to my first suggestion to help your indie author biz. Get an email to your business domain. I also subscribe to newsletters using my gmail, but using an email attached to your domain enables your network to quickly connect to you, see what you do, and possibly promote you like I did in the two examples above.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
SCARS Healing Anthology - Open for poetry and short story submissions now through December 31, 2022. I am coordinating this project along with fellow indie author and poet, Stacy Savage. This anthology will be published during Mental Health Awareness Month in May 2023. It provides an opportunity for you to write up to three poems and/or short stories that shine light and hope on mental health topics. Indiana Incognito Author Extravaganza, Cambridge City, Indiana, Friday, September 30, 2022, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturday, October 1, 2022, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. This free event is hosted by The Friends of the Cambridge City Public Library. All children are welcome. Over 20 authors have signed up to showcase their books and help support children’s literacy programs. I will be a guest author at this event, Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. Stop by and say hi if you are in the area. I would love to meet IAA Newsletter readers in person!

Hoosier Indie Authors Book Fair, Honeywell Center, 275 W Market St, Wabash, Indiana, Small Business Saturday, November 26, 2022, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. If you want to attend as an author, please complete the Author Registration Form. I’ve seen and participated in a lot of book launches over the years. The marketing and hype surrounding Gary Vee’s book launch of his latest book Twelve and a Half was one of the best I have ever seen! He tied book purchases in with his NFTs. You had to purchase a minimum of twelve books within the brief launch window to get in on the giveaway. I purchased twelve books, but some fans purchased hundreds of books! He could write a bestselling book based on the marketing of this book. Gary has mastered the online marketing game. I highly recommend following him if you aren’t easily offended by colorful language.
Podcasts
What social media platform is the best to be on right now?
According to Gary Vaynerchuk, an entrepreneur who has mastered social media marketing, online marketing is always changing. Gary says right now the best place to be is Facebook Fan Pages and YouTube Shorts!
What social media platform do you prefer? I think the best one is the one we use consistently. But, I would heed Gary’s advice. He’s rarely wrong when it comes to growing online.
